ADAMS COUNTY: Commissioner Eva J. Henry Appointed to Regional Air Quality Council

Hs

Adams County issued the following announcement on July 31.

Adams County Commissioner Eva J. Henry was recently appointed by Governor Jared Polis to the Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC), where she will serve through April 2023.

As part of the RAQC, Henry will act as a local government representative in the Denver metropolitan area, working with various stakeholders across the region to help provide solutions in support of cleaner air.

“It is an honor to be appointed to this position,” said Henry. “Working together, we can provide viable solutions to ensure the best possible air quality and help create a safe and healthy environment for our families to live, work, and play.”

Henry is a constant supporter of community involvement and continues her goal to develop opportunities to boost social justice, amplify opportunities, and protect families.

In addition, Henry serves on the following boards: Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG), Adams County Regional Economic Partnership (Executive Committee), Maiker Housing Partners, and Airport Coordinating Council.

The RAQC was established in 1989 to serve as the lead air quality planning agency for the Denver metropolitan area. In July 2013, Governor John Hickenlooper extended and amended the RAQC as the lead air quality planning agency for the Denver metropolitan area and the Denver Metro/North Front Range Ozone Non-Attainment Area.

The mission of the RAQC is to develop and propose effective and cost-efficient air quality planning initiatives with input from local government agencies, the private sector, stakeholder groups, and citizens of the Denver metropolitan area and the Denver Metro/North Front Range Ozone Non-Attainment Area. They plan and implement a variety of public outreach and education efforts. The RAQC assists with regional public/private initiatives to reduce emissions from the transportation sector, mobile sources, and other sources.
