Students in Westminster Public Schools completed the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) tests in April. The assessments covered English Language Arts and Math for grades 3-8, Science for grades 5, 8, and 11, and Social Studies for grades 4 and 7. According to a May 28 announcement from the district, CMAS score reports will be available online starting May 29 through the Colorado Department of Education Family Portal. Results for CoAlt Science and Social Studies will also be accessible on that date.
The district said that CMAS scores offer insights into students’ academic progress based on Colorado’s grade level expectations. “We encourage you to view them knowing that the WPS Competency Based System (CBS) incorporates more than grade level expectations in your child’s education and stresses the importance of mastery of learning,” officials said. CBS allows some students to move ahead more quickly while others can take additional time to address learning gaps. The district encourages families to seek teacher feedback for a comprehensive understanding of student progress.
To access CMAS reports, families are instructed to visit the Family Portal and log in using their child’s State ID number (SASID), legal last name, legal first name, and date of birth. The SASID can be found in Infinite Campus Parent Portal or on prior year’s CMAS reports; if it is not available, families are advised to contact their school or the district office, as state officials cannot share SASIDs directly with families.
Reports available beginning May 29 will include each student’s scale score, performance level, and a description of what those levels mean. By June 15, percentile rankings—showing how students performed compared to others statewide—as well as comparisons with school-, district-, and state-level averages will also be released. Detailed skill-area breakdowns are provided for English Language Arts (reading literary text, informational text, vocabulary) and writing; math results show performance by specific domains.
Additional resources such as video guides by grade level and subject area are offered within the SPR video library inside the portal along with documents explaining how to interpret assessment results.
For PSAT and SAT results covering grades 9-11, parents should use the College Board Student Score Reports Portal by logging into their child’s College Board account or creating one if needed.
