On December 10, the Westminster Public Schools Board of Education approved the name “Uplands Discovery Campus” for its newest PK-8 school. The new campus will bring together Shaw Heights Middle School and John E. Flynn A Marzano Academy in a single building, with a focus on arts, STEM, and career and technical education (CTE) programs.

The construction of the Uplands Discovery Campus is expected to continue until its official opening in fall 2028. Until then, students from Shaw Heights Middle School and John E. Flynn A Marzano Academy, as well as incoming sixth graders from Mesa Elementary and Harris Park Elementary, will attend classes at the current Shaw Heights building.

Enrollment for the 2026/27 school year begins on December 15. All students who are zoned to attend the new Uplands Discovery Campus must complete registration as usual.

According to Westminster Public Schools, “The new name and logo will honor the past with a proud Falcon, while paving the way for a bright future.”
