Westminster High School’s Student Council is close to reaching its $10,000 fundraising goal for Colorado Make-a-Wish recipient Levy, according to a March 11 announcement. The effort has so far raised $9,000 through school and community activities.

The fundraising campaign is important because it supports children with critical illnesses and helps the school continue hosting in-person wish recipients at future assemblies. This year’s funds have been raised entirely through internal efforts and local support, without donor matching.

A new Pickleball Tournament was the most successful event this year, attracting 20 teams. Other activities included a Culver’s Share Night and an outing to Skate City. Students also appeared on 9 News’ Make a Wish Monday segment to promote their cause.

Sophomore Galaxy B said, “It was a very stressful week, but it was all worth it at the end! I loved being able to meet Levy and see how happy he was at the assembly.” Freshman Rylie C. added, “Being able to help grant wishes to kids with critical illness helps me and my family be able to give back to the community.”

Levy recently had a liver transplant and his wish is to meet David Baszuki, creator of his favorite video game Roblox. Donations are still being accepted for those who want to contribute.
