Westminster High School seniors celebrated their graduation at the CU Events Center on May 22, marking the end of their high school journey. A total of 364 students were honored during the ceremony, as family members, friends, and faculty applauded and cheered for the class of 2026. The event was highlighted by hundreds of roses tossed into the air to commemorate the achievement.
Superintendent Dr. Jeni Gotto said that success is a shared accomplishment. “This room is full of people who have been part of your story… Some believed in you before you fully believed in yourself,” Gotto said.
Principal Maureen Bangsund addressed her first graduating class as principal, reflecting on their resilience and character. “I’ve seen students show kindness when nobody asked them to. I’ve seen students hold themselves together through things that should have broken them,” Bangsund said. “I’ve seen students become leaders not because they were the loudest—but because other people felt safer, stronger, and better around them. That’s what I’ll remember about this class. Not perfection. But, character.”
Gotto concluded with words meant to encourage graduates as they move forward: “You will always be part of Westy. You will always be part of the Pack… Tomorrow, the world gets bigger, but so do you.”
The ceremony marked an important milestone for both students and staff as they look ahead to new opportunities beyond high school.
