Tigers Receive IWLCA Team and Individual Academic Awards

The Colorado College women's lacrosse team added to its impressive list of academic achievements by scoring team and individual honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association for the 2021-22 academic year.

For the 11th consecutive year and the 16th time since the award was established in 2004, the Tigers were named an IWLCA Honor Squad for posting a combined grade-point average of 3.2 or higher.

CC, which finished with a team GPA of 3.59, is one of 152 Division III programs to earn the award.

"The dedication to the pursuit of excellence on the lacrosse field and in the classroom is admirable and impressive," head coach Susan Stuart said. "The academic structure at Colorado College and the environment that encourages innovative thinking and a collaborative process has set up our student athletes for great success beyond the confines of our campus.  I am incredibly proud to be the coach of these amazing young women."

In addition to the team award, a program-record nine Tigers were among the 977 student-athletes from 183 different institutions who received the organization's top individual award, a spot on the IWLCA's Division III Academic Honor Roll for cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student.

Recent graduates Natalie Schluter and Abigail Turner earned a spot on the list for the second consecutive year, while fellow graduate Emmeline Kelley and rising seniors Naomi Bram, Olivia Dossett, Delia Freliech, Susie Renehan, Bella Scola and Courtney Zell were first-time recipients.
