Adams County Government issued the following announcement on Oct. 13.
The National Weather Service had extended the Red Flag warning for Adams County until 6 p.m. Weds., Oct. 14. A Red Flag Warning automatically places Adams County at Level 2 Fire Restrictions. No open burning was allowed until further notice. Those having burn permits issued by the Fire Chief CANNOT burn during Level 2.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
