At 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7, Marcus Romero, a former Brighton High School standout now playing college baseball, helped the Northern Illinois Huskies secure a 13-1 NCAA Division I victory over the Ohio Bobcats.

The contest was held at Bob Wren Stadium and marked the teams’ second meeting of the season. In the earlier game on Friday, March 6, the Huskies were defeated 14-7 by the Bobcats.

Romero posted two hits out of three at-bats, scored once, had one RBI and drew a walk.

Northern Illinois is set to face the Ohio Bobcats again at Bob Wren Stadium on Sunday, March 8, with game time at 12 p.m.
