The Northern Illinois Huskies, featuring former Brighton High School standout Marcus Romero, defeated the Miami RedHawks 6-4 in an NCAA Division I baseball contest at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 22.

The game was played at Ralph McKinzie Field at Walt and Janice Owens Park and marked the third meeting between these teams this season. The Huskies and RedHawks have each won once in the season series so far.

Romero contributed with two hits in four plate appearances, scoring two runs, driving in one run and striking out once.

Northern Illinois is set to play its next game Tuesday, March 24, facing the Eastern Illinois Panthers at Coaches Stadium at Monier Field.
