The Colorado Rapids will host Union Omaha in the 2026 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park on April 14, according to an April 3 announcement from U.S. Soccer. The match is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. Mountain Time kickoff and will be available on CBS Sports Network, Paramount+, Altitude Radio, ColoradoRapids.com, and the Colorado Rapids App.
This marks the first time since 2023 that the Rapids are participating in the domestic tournament. The event provides teams from various divisions a chance to compete for national honors.
Colorado will face USL League One side Union Omaha for the first time in club history. Founded in 2019, Union Omaha began play in 2020 and has quickly become one of their league’s top performers with three finishes at the top of the table and two league titles over five seasons.
The matchup was drawn alongside Sporting Kansas City and Colorado Springs Switchbacks, who will also compete in this round. Should Colorado advance past Union Omaha, they would next face either Kansas City or Colorado Springs.
The Round of 32 includes sixteen Major League Soccer clubs facing off against sixteen winners from earlier rounds held this week. Among those advancing are nine teams from USL Championship (Division II), six from USL League One (Division III), and one from MLS NEXT Pro (Division III).
Season Ticket Members for the Rapids will receive complimentary tickets automatically through their KSE Account Manager system, while tickets for general sale are expected to be released soon.
