The Colorado Rapids will travel to play New York City FC in an inter-conference Major League Soccer match on March 14. The game is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. MT kickoff at Yankee Stadium, with coverage available on Apple TV, Altitude Sports Radio, Tico Sports Spanish Radio, ColoradoRapids.com, and the Colorado Rapids app.

This matchup brings together two teams that have started their seasons strongly. The Rapids enter the contest after winning back-to-back home games, including a 2-0 victory over Portland and a 4-1 win against LA Galaxy. Over these two matches, five different players scored for Colorado as they secured all six points from their homestand.

In the recent win over LA Galaxy, Designated Player Rafael Navarro scored twice, marking his fifth multi-goal game for the club. This achievement makes him only the third player in club history to reach this milestone, joining Paul Bravo and Conor Casey. Navarro’s performance also earned him his first Team of the Matchday honor this season.

Other contributors included Darren Yapi, who scored Colorado’s opening goal and assisted Alexis Manyoma’s first goal since joining the team on loan last season. Additional assists came from Paxten Aaronson, Ted Ku-DiPietro, Wayne Frederick, and Hamzat Ojediran.

New York City FC remains unbeaten so far this season and has outscored opponents by eight goals to two across their three matches. Their most recent result was a decisive 5-0 home victory over Orlando City SC with Keaton Parks scoring twice and additional goals from Maxi Moralez, Nicolas Fernandez, and Agustin Ojeda.

The last meeting between these teams took place in 2024 at Citi Field in New York. On that occasion, Colorado won 2-0 with Navarro providing the game-winning goal.
