The Colorado Rapids have confirmed the permanent acquisition of defender Noah Cobb after his loan spell with the club ended this offseason. Cobb, who joined from Atlanta United FC in July 2025, will remain with the Rapids as part of a trade agreement that includes financial terms and potential incentives.
Under the deal, Colorado will send $275,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) for the 2026 MLS season and $250,000 in GAM for 2027 to Atlanta United. The agreement also allows for up to an additional $250,000 in GAM based on performance-based incentives. Atlanta United will retain a percentage of any future transfer involving Cobb.
Cobb has made five appearances for Colorado since his arrival, starting each match across all competitions. He debuted for the Rapids during the Leagues Cup against Cruz Azul on August 7, 2025. Since making his Major League Soccer debut in 2023, Cobb has played in 39 league matches and logged over 2,300 minutes.
Before joining Colorado, Cobb spent three seasons with Atlanta United’s first team and previously signed a Homegrown Player contract with them in January 2023. His earlier career included time with Atlanta United 2 in both USL Championship and MLS NEXT Pro competitions, where he accumulated significant playing time and earned an MLS NEXT All-Star selection following his performances in the USL during the 2022 season.
Internationally, Cobb represented the U.S. Youth National Team at the FIFA U-20 World Cup this past October alongside teammate Adam Beaudry. He appeared once during that tournament and scored a goal. Cobb has participated in multiple training camps for the U-20 squad and played every match but one at the Concacaf U-20 Championship in 2024 as part of a run to the final against Mexico.

The Rapids will send $275,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) to Atlanta for the 2026 MLS season and $250,000 in GAM for the 2027 MLS season. Additionally, Colorado will send up to $250,000 in GAM if certain performance-based incentives are achieved. Atlanta will retain a percentage of any future transfer of Cobb.”
