Colorado Rapids secure $850,000 in allocation money from Chicago Fire FC

The Colorado Rapids have obtained $850,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) from Chicago Fire FC. In return, the Rapids have sent two 2026 International Roster Slots to Chicago. The agreement stipulates that Colorado will receive $600,000 in GAM for 2026 and an additional $250,000 in GAM for 2027.

“Colorado Rapids acquired $850,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) from Chicago Fire FC in exchange for two 2026 International Roster Slots. The Rapids will receive $600,000 in 2026 GAM and $250,000 in 2027 GAM,” according to the club’s announcement.

This transaction provides Colorado with increased financial flexibility under Major League Soccer’s roster rules.
