The Colorado Rapids will host St. Louis CITY SC on May 9 at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. MT. Coverage of the match will be available on Apple TV, Altitude Sports Radio, Tico Sports Spanish Radio, ColoradoRapids.com, and the Colorado Rapids app.

This match marks the Rapids’ return to Major League Soccer play at home for the first time since April 11. The team has maintained a perfect record in their five matches at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park this year across all competitions, outscoring opponents by a combined total of 15-5. Their last two home games were victories in U.S. Open Cup play against Union Omaha and Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, securing them a spot in the tournament Quarterfinals next week.

Following their Open Cup win over the Switchbacks, Colorado resumed MLS competition last weekend with an away game against Houston Dynamo FC. Despite strong defensive efforts from both teams, Houston claimed victory by a single goal.

St. Louis CITY SC enters Saturday’s contest seeking their second win of the season and first league victory since March 21. The club has experienced difficulties early in the season with one win, six losses, and three draws over ten games.

Designated Player Rafael Navarro stands out as a key figure for Colorado this season with eleven goal contributions—seven goals and four assists—the highest in Major League Soccer so far this year. Navarro has also covered more distance than any other striker in MLS this season at 78.41 miles and has earned two Team of the Matchday appearances along with one Player of the Matchday honor.

Last year’s series between these clubs saw Colorado claim one win and one draw against St. Louis CITY SC; Homegrown forward Darren Yapi scored the decisive goal during their previous meeting at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park and recently signed a new U-22 Initiative contract that keeps him with Colorado through the end of the 2028-29 MLS season.
