The Colorado Rapids and the Downtown Denver Partnership have announced the launch of the Colorado Rapids Soccer Celebration, an event aimed at bringing together soccer fans from across the Rocky Mountain region. The event will begin in June and take place at Skyline Park Block 1 on Arapahoe Street between 15th and 16th Street in downtown Denver.
The Soccer Celebration is planned as a central gathering point for supporters during this summer’s FIFA World Cup 26. Fans will be able to watch every match live on two large outdoor screens set up at the venue.
Haley Durmer, Chief Business Officer of the Colorado Rapids, said, “We are thrilled to establish the Colorado Rapids Soccer Celebration as the heartbeat of the soccer community this year. Our goal is to provide a world-class fan zone that captures the passion for the beautiful game. Soccer Celebration will be an unforgettable experience for all.”
The event will include local food vendors, retail specials, and appearances by former Rapids players and local celebrities. There will also be opportunities for drop-in play at VISA Street Soccer Park and Bank of America Fields. Programming for both youth and adults will be led by Street Soccer USA, a nonprofit focused on building community through soccer.
Although Major League Soccer will pause during the tournament, organizers say that the Rapids intend to keep fans engaged by hosting what they describe as the largest soccer celebration in Denver this summer.
Kourtny Garrett, President and CEO of the Downtown Denver Partnership, stated, “Hosting the Colorado Rapids Soccer Celebration in the heart of Downtown Denver is an incredible catalyst for summer activity. Downtown is ready and excited to be the hub for a premier soccer experience this summer, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome fans, champion our businesses, and celebrate the sport.”
The multi-week event aims to offer entertainment in a family-friendly setting while providing fans with a space to connect over their shared enthusiasm for soccer.
