The Colorado Rapids announced on Apr. 19 their starting lineup and roster notes ahead of the match against Inter Miami CF at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado.
This match is notable as it marks the first time all Rapids players have played at the Denver Broncos’ stadium. The starting eleven includes Zack Steffen (captain), Rob Holding, Lucas Herrington, Kosi Thompson, Jackson Travis, Hamzat Ojediran, Paxten Aaronson, Josh Atencio, Wayne Frederick, Rafael Navarro and Georgi Minoungou. The substitutes are Nico Hansen, Keegan Rosenberry, Dante Sealy, Alexis Manyoma, Alex Harris, Ian Murphy, Noah Cobb, Kimani Stewart-Baynes and Darren Yapi.
All three players who scored in the previous regular season game against Houston Dynamo—Kosi Thompson, Rafael Navarro and Josh Atencio—are included in Saturday’s lineup. Georgi Minoungou makes his first start for the Rapids after providing an assist to Navarro in his debut appearance off the bench during that Houston match.
Rafael Navarro enters this fixture seeking his 35th career goal after recently moving past former Rapids Chris Henderson and Cole Bassett to become sixth on the club’s all-time scoring list. Additionally, Navarro was named Player of the Matchday for his performance against Houston. He was joined by Atencio and Thompson as well as Head Coach Matt Wells on Team of the Matchday honors following their contributions to Colorado’s recent 6-2 victory.
The match is scheduled for Saturday afternoon with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m. Mountain Time. Fans can watch live coverage on Apple TV or listen via Altitude Sports Radio.
