The Adams County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with Metro Denver Crime Stoppers, is seeking new information about the 2022 homicide of Alaina “Evan” Martinez. The incident occurred around 3:00 a.m. on October 15, 2022, in the 900 block of Dakin Street in unincorporated Adams County.

According to authorities, deputies responded to a report of a drive-by shooting that resulted in the death of Alaina Martinez and injuries to several others. Investigators identified a dark blue early-2000s Chevy Tahoe as being involved; this vehicle has since been recovered.

Officials are urging anyone with knowledge about the case—including details regarding the vehicle, those responsible, or events leading up to the shooting—to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Information submitted through the tipline may qualify for a reward of up to $5,000 if it leads to an arrest and prosecution.

“Behind every cold case is a family still waiting for answers. We owe it to this victim and their loved ones to pursue every lead, which is why we’re asking for the public’s help,” said Adams County Sheriff Gene Claps. “We want the public to know that no piece of information is too small and could be what we need to help solve this case.”

Detectives continue to follow up on tips and investigate actively. Authorities hope members of the community will come forward with any information that could help resolve this case and provide justice for Alaina Martinez and other victims.
